I probably should have canceled, or at the very least rescheduled, my Stitchfix for this month. The box arrived just a week after Christmas and just days after I hit up the post-holiday sales, so I had already stocked up on brand new goodies when it arrived.
It’s hard to say whether my reaction to the box contents would have been different later in the month, but I was mostly underwhelmed. There were lots of my pet peeves within: two tops requiring camisoles or layering, one top entirely too short and boxy, a cardigan with cheap-looking buttons. One of the tops was mildly interesting, but just days before I had bought a better-looking tunic in the exact same fabric at pretty much the same price.
This month I’m only keeping one piece, a ridiculously soft knit infinity scarf, which I was going to send back until I tried it on and realized it’s perfect for daily use. This is my third new scarf in the last month – including the one from my December Stitchfix and a navy/mulberry SmartWool one from Christmas – but it’s not like you can have too many when facing subzero temperatures every day. I mean, the forecast for Monday is -10. THE HIGH IS -10. So. I will buy All The Scarves, thankyouverymuch.
